Christ's Laptop
After working 12 days straight, I continue the neverending quest of Lets Go! Hawaii.
I visited St. Andrew's Cathedral. The guide said tours given after Sunday services. I thought oh, last Sunday mass is 10AM.....mass lasts about an hour. Apparently the Episcopalians aren't as die-hard as catholics (at least in America) are about getting in and out in an hour.
Anyhow, cool older building. Built starting in 1862 by King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma with stones imported from England. Impressive sounding organ inside and they have a bell tower that is rung the old fashioned way (by hand). 10 ft. tall bronze statue of the saint in front of the cathedral. The Makai (seaward, in this case, I think west) side of the building is a stained glass wall.
The choir sounded really good (from outside as I awaited mass to finish).
Only other news for the weekend, I purchased a laptop. Just as soon as that arrives; I too can be cool and hip whipping out the ol' laptop at the coffee shop.....well maybe not cool and hip, but I'll be sitting there with the laptop nonetheless....

It's okay if you're not cool and hip because you're still good enough, smart enough, and doggone it! You have a laptop!!
