Musings from the Mundane

Why not write and pass on this simple mundane life?

Words and Footie

I'm here in one piece and getting all the ugly looks an American deserves to get.

(actually people are nice here....just I've spent too much time in HI and OR where people look each other in the eyes passing on the street and even say hello)

A ten hour flight is a long time to stay awake on a plane....good thing the return trip is during evening hours so I can actually sleep on the plane.

Yesterday I went walkabout. Say the ANZAC war memorial, walked by the Centrepoint Tower (aka AMP tower), by Parliament House down to the Opera House.

Things to do today, need to go to the Queen Vic Building and see aboot getting a battery for my camera then on down to the bridge.

I think Saturday is the Grand Final Footie match. No chance at getting tickets, but I understand the town will be full of people and it'll be something just to go down to the pub and watch the BIG game.

Words learnt on the plane:

Rock Melons is a Honeydew Melon. Rock is short for Moon Rock.

People from Queensland (Northern Coast) refer to people from New South Wales as Mexicans as they seem to move north but not go back.

Alright off again.......

What about the word "heaps"? Are there heaps of Mexicans there? Have you seen heaps of kangaroos? My friend just got back from Australia and was telling me all about it. :)
