Well here's the weekend update from O'ahu.

Friday night was the Construction Company's Christmas dinner. At a place called Roy's. Very fancy, out in Hawaii Kai.

Afterwards, drinks with some coworkers; in the following order: Duke's (base of the Outrigger Waikiki). Place known best for it's bar that is literally right on the beach. Dawghouse (basement of some building at the International Marketplace). No cover (well at least not after 12:30), crowded dancefloor; but proportioned with too few females while there. Final stop; Irish Rose. Near (what I call) hotel row. At that point it was near 4AM, I remember dark woods, smokey atmosphere (like almost all the bars), darts and then going home.

Saturday, late start but accomplished most of the Christmas shopping. Dinner at the Hard Rock...watch 1/2 of the UH/MSU game, blog post, then sleep.

Today I walked down to Mass. I didn't know what time mass was and once I got there had an hour to kill. Grabbed a coffee, hung out on the beach and ended up talking to Surfer Steve. Turns out surf was rare today at Waikiki, apparently the winter tradewinds leave the water pretty flat on this shore. But I did finally manage to find out which beach on the North Shore has the (in)famous Pipeline break. Chores this afternoon, followed by some swimming in the pool now I'm here blogging (duh....guess that should be apparent).

Anyhow, not much else to report. MAY have found someone to rent my house for awhile. Tommorrow I FINALLY get to cash a paycheck....haven't been paid a paycheck since October (like) 10th. It'll be good to have that cash (assuming the bank doesn't put another one of these 6 day holds on these mainland bank checks). I really don't get it; I thought this federal electronic check thing was supposed to make checks clear almost instantly.

I'm in trouble now though, today I found the store in Honolulu with the big Sony Wega Plasma screens and Bowers & Wilkins speakers.....
