Musings from the Mundane

Why not write and pass on this simple mundane life?

Four Days of Thanksgiving.

Kept busy. I spent Turkey Day with my folks and sisters and brother. Good day, and good to see the family again. I ended up with my usual task of making Fruit Salad (it takes skill to pour cans of fruit into a mix......I even managed to forget to cut the pear halves into smaller bits.....). Played a game from the 60s called Careers. Its a fun game, look for it sometime if you get the chance.

Friday was the traditional day after Thanksgiving movie day. This year we saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Walk the Line, and then split up; me and my brother went to see Ice Harvest, my sisters saw Rent. I really liked the Johnny Cash movie. Wouldn't be entirely surprised if Joaquin Phoenix and (never thought I might say this) Reese Witherspoon are nominated for awards this year.

Saturday, I should have finished pruning the roses....instead spent the day hooked on a computer game called Evil Genius which my brother loaned me. Its been a long time since I've been mesmerized to the point of losing all knowledge of time in a computer game......guess maybe I am really bent on global domination.....

That evening, helped my sister's boyfriend move some furniter and then it was off to a celebration for my sisters 25th.

Sunday, friends from Minnesota came to visit. I warned them that I lacked proper guest facilities, but it was all good. I even learned what it would be like with a little baby (attempting to) crawl around the house.

Monday, I went to the doctor for the first time in a long time. Doctor said I'd live (so thpppt to those of you hoping otherwise). I got a tetanus shot......I'm good to go around stepping on nails on the jobsite now for another 10 years.

dern, good to see you back with your musings for all to see.

i really found the evil genius game quite interesting. i would have downloaded it and played it right now on my lunch break, but i don't have administrative rights on this high fluting new SF city/county computer.

oh, well.

again, fun post. informative. entertaining. thoughtful.

(the sound of one hand clapping)
