Gardening Blazes Peer Gynt
Just the usual eclectic weekend.
Watched the Blazers get beaten by Golden State. A sloppy game by both teams. Shocked to find out that NBA games are no longer on a national TV network.....WTF...
Saturday went to the symphony. Peer Gynt was the piece. I'm sure most of America is familiar with many of the movements in Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt music......thanks to TV commercials. Peer Gynt is a play (a 4 hour play) by Ibsen.....Grieg wrote the music to accompany the play. Interesting presentation of the Incidental Music to Peer Gynt, a speaker gave Cliff's Cliff Notes of the play as each movement went on....put the music into perspective with the story its supposed to go with.
New theory: Choral pieces (even if sung in English) should be accompanied with reader board translation....guess maybe I'm just not a good listener.........
Rest of the weekend was spent in the yard. Slowly turning Rose Trees into wait high thorny canes. I also learned that I'm supposed to mulch the things. Didn't realized there were so many roses in the yard.....still not done.

What the "Pho"???? ;-) Sorry, lame attempt at being funny. Actually, my brother was telling me about this place in SoCal called "Pho King". You figure it out....
