Musings from the Mundane

Why not write and pass on this simple mundane life?

A Night In

I felt more like staying in an watching a movie, but I don't have a DVD player (next time you go into a Bleckbuster (the Starbucks of the video world), just check to see how many videocassettes are in the store); and I looked a couple weeks ago, the TV (unfortunately) won't even support that technology.

Mission HHV Accomplished.

I finally made it today to check out the happenings at the Hilton Hawaiian with all the Pro-Bowl people in town. I saw the following:

A. (Insert names) football player looking unhappy with signing an autograph as he made it into the bar with his entourage just before the sun set.

B. (Insert names) football fan who was excited and proud to have an "official" pro-bowl football with a bunch of signatures on it.

C. The most outrageous limousine ever. It was either one of those Freightliner or Ford(?) mini-semis stretched.

I also made a special trip all the way out to the Arizona Memorial to get a coffee mug I saw around Christmas time (which they were out of then and now). Ended up driving back the H3. Cool highway and the tunnel through the mountains was impressive. Drove back around via Waimanolo, Hamauma Bay, Hawaii-Kai.

Tommorrows plan, go to the Pro-Bowl. I don't have tickets, but I hear it doesn't sell out. At bare minimum should be some sort of tailgating go on in the parking lot right??

(No post tommorrow, the I-cafe closes early...which is good for me, shouldn't be spending money sitting here typing away anyways....)

Wait...

(1) No DVD player?? That's weird. Get a new tv too then!!

(2) You can only do internet related stuff when you are at the ICafe? And you PAY for it?? Seriously? You don't have service at home?

(3) Enjoy the Pro Bowl...or at least the tailgating (it's better anyway.)

I still think 8track cassettess are awesome. I'll side with you on this one, Loren. VHS rules! (Actually, the more and more I visit the video store, the less and less the VHS isles have become.) Gotta make room for all the non-video crap they are trying to sell. I.E. Satellite/Internet connection, SNACKS, magazines, little kids' souls...

Happy Heart Day!

Thanks all for the concern with my current losing battle in the technological race....and for pointing out a key modifier I forgot "in Hawaii." My Portland persona has the necessary technology.

(my sacarsmometer lately has been off, but here goes anyhow)

Thought about the cheap DVD player (read $50), but without the TV thats pointless...it'd be a waste of money (which I don't have) and shipping would be too much.

Plan laptop has been put on hold until operation pay for vacation and car insurance has been completed (and even then would be a lease to own...hate that thought).

Liezel, you'll be happy (or maybe sad for me) to learn I'm still snobbish enough of music to have an LP collection....thanks.
