This has been a GREAT weekend.

Friends were here from mainland California and Washington.

Thursday night I took my buddy to the bar in the basement (which I guess is a bad descriptor as he relates it....you imagine a dirty dingy nasty bar). Highlight of the night; the really bad DJ who "Came all the way from New York" shoving the tip jug in front of me to not get a tip.

Friday night. Brew Moon. Batman. Waikiki. Kelley O'Neill's Irish Pub. Amusing conversation for the night: The girl who, supposedly, after 5 times of smoking ice with her boyfriend decided ice was bad for her.....so she broke up with her boyfriend.

Saturday. Friends from Washington arrive. Driving (not walking like most people) in Waikiki to rent surfboards for them. They surf at Ala Moana Beach Park (I think it might be called Concessions). Me; I toodle around in the ocean for awhile, lay on the beach, back in the ocean. Dinner at Cheeseburger Waikiki. Happy Hour Martini's at Shanghai Bistro. Beers back in the apartment.....crash.

Sunday. Crab impersonation. Ala Moana Shopping Center. Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium. Drive up to the place their staying on the North Shore (see the movie Big Bounce with Morgan Freeman for a visual reference). Check out Pipeline and Sunset Beach. They surf (what little waves there were this weekend) at Sunset Beach (well, actually the next break southwest of Sunset Beach). Sunset. Foodland. BBQ. Beer. Cockroaches. Ouchy sleep.

Monday. Sharks Cove snorkeling. Haleiwa and Pizza Bob's. More Happy Hour Martini's and Hawai'i Five-O. Fireworks at Ala Moana Park (from Ala Wai Canal). Not sure about the open container laws here.....but sure we broke them. Beers at the pub in the basement (Ye Olde Fox and Hounde). Crash sleep.

Tuesday. Work (that's why I'm here remember). Dinner at Hula's (just above Duke's; on the beach; in the Outrigger Waikiki). Walk the beach.

It is awesome that friends visited...........one more set arrives Saturday to stay with me for a week.....
