Smashed Sunday
I live the life of a ten year old.
I collect smashed pennies. If there's a penny machine at a place I've traveled to, I probably have a cheap 51ยข souvenir.
I have an album that someone in the family gave me from Sea World many years ago. The album is full.
I figured that living in a tourist destination would easily allow me to get a new album.
I went to the Arizona Memorial and I guess the government does not necessarily support smashing its hard minted currency.
I went to the USS Bowfin Museum and they had one.....looked like it would fall apart after a couple uses and it Blazingly had the American Flag and Eagle on the cover. The only thing I own that Blazingly has Americana on it is a Bazooka Joe T-Shirt that proclaims "Red White and Chew" on the back and for some reason I don't see that changing anytime in the near future.
I did miss my chance to get my photo taken in Admiral Nimitz's WWII Naval Jeep (proclaims a flyer I was given).
Final place I could think of; the Dole Plantation. Surely they would have a pinneapple encrusted album. Same album......same problem.
Can anyone think of another place here on Oahu to search for said coveted Smashed Penny Album?
Otherwise, guess I'll resort to purchasing on the internet.....aw the internet, so much more resourceful than I........

I think of you everytime I see a smashed penny machine. It's been that way since the fourth grade.
Buying them online? That HAS to be cheating.
No not buying smashed pennies online....just maybe an album to hold them in.
I'm sure you could get a smashed penny at the Polynesian Cultural Center on the other side of the island from Waikiki. That's a tourist trap if I ever saw one...
How daft of me; of course, the PCC!
