Musings from the Mundane

Why not write and pass on this simple mundane life?

20041220

Not really a poem, but its been awhile since I've written any

This is it.

Tommorrow I leave for the home of my alter ego, yuppy man.

A place where I'm a so called responsible person.

Where I am a homeowner.
Where I drive a Volvo.
Where I've got the audiophile home theater and stereo setup.
Where you can be a regular and no one will know your name.
Where I'm registered to vote.
Where I take Tai Chi to release work stress.

A place of winter fog, cold damp and misty rain.
A place where a jacket is required.
A place that slippers are called flip-flops.
A place that calls the zipper lane an HOV lane.
A place where I don't have to pay sales tax.
A place that has an awesome symphony which I've got season tickets for.

My home.

Am I that person or am I both? I've always enjoyed a paradox; hopefully both.

Nice poem. Is it a poem? I think so.

I give it a year.

Someday, you'll be a full time Hawaiian resident.

I went through the same thing. "Oregon is my home," I said. Now, I feel very comfortable in California. And, actually, I think of both places as home. So now, I've resolved to think of myself as a West Coast resident.

You belong to the Islands. I can feel it.
