Bigger "Is" Better
That's what I think everytime I visit California.
Everything there always seems bigger. Stores and roads are physically large. Lifestyles seem to be busy (hence larger life). Personalities seem larger.
I spent the weekend in Sacramento for Grandma's 85th Birthday. It was really good to see that side of the family. Cousins and Aunts/Uncles I haven't seen in over 5 years. We were trying to figure out the last time the entire family was together in one room. No consensus, but it had to have been over a decade ago (and, sadly, I fear it was at Grandpa's Funeral).
One of the aunt's made a mural of all the families making up Grandma's life. It was interesting seeing the Aunts/Uncles when they were little. And again, I searched, but I don't even think there's a group photo of the entire family.
Busy weekend to boot. Went and saw Wedding Crashers. I liked the movie. Had some laughs and it did have a good moral to it. Little odd seeing it with my folks, sisters, brother, and an aunt and uncle.....but that's my family.....
Sunday morning, at grandma's request, church. Sunday night I saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Funny, starting to defend Hawai'i like I do Oregon. Sunday night, at dinner, I ordered a rice bowl something or other. Dad asked if they had chopsticks (its the only way to eat rice.....a fork is too difficult). The answer.....no....the waiter's quip was "Guess you have to eat like an American tonight." I kindly reminded (or I guess rather told) him that in Hawai'i they eat with chopsticks......I'm still pretty sure Hawai'i's a state.......
Anyhow that's enough rambling to torture you with tonight.....

LOL - I didn't know Hawaii was a state either!! ;-)
Yes, things are bigger here in Cali, but not like Texas....now THAT'S a state that believes bigger is better!
A friend of mine who lives in Alaska told me this joke once:
How to you make a Texan angry?
Tell 'em that if you cut Alaska in Two, Texas would be the Third Largest State....
Lol....that's pretty funny! I have to say though, I am rather partial to Texas....maybe b/c I find myself there more often than any other state for some really odd reason. Nevada doesn't count. It's an extension of CA, especially Vegas which is an extension of LA. :)
What brings you to Texas so often?
