Looking ahead to a New Year
I refreshed the sidebar links today.
Wonder why the sidebar links are there (besides the obvious; I lack a personal permanent computer to add these as internet favorites). Thought I'd share a breakdown of my thoughts (I apologize if I've given up anyone's anomynimity here):
"Dirtykness" and "A Paragraph at Most" (aka Christian)
I've known Christian since grade school. His blog is random, has a good flow, and even though there are things in there that make me wince at times; its what he's up to. A friend once remarked to me that its amazing we get along and in her opinion it was because we're complete opposites. I've come to think as accurate and fair statement.
"Catholic Midget Tossing" (aka Liezel)
Liezel left a comment way back on my first post (which still is the best and most creative post to date I think). She has a quirky sense of humor that makes her blog enjoyable to read. Her blog lends an east coast sense of things to me. She's a creative writer with pretty good insights. I am lately convinced that my comments left on her blog are driving her nuts and I will likely soon stop. Lately she has written about trust and fears. Almost wonder if its directed at me.
"Classic Kitsch and Such" (aka Heidi)
I've found Heidi's blog through Christian's. She is a recent addition to the sidebar. She enjoys humor in advertising/marketing which I too share (I always laugh at funny stuff I see in the store). She's also a creative writer and her insights are good as well. She has written about her anxiety which (I think) takes pretty large guts to talk to the world as a whole about. So far doesn't seem fazed by the incessant random comments.
"Expounding on Nothing" (aka Mr. and Mrs. Palmer)
I've yet to make any sort of contact other than reading their blog. I found this one via "Next Blog". They appear to be from Sacramento (my birthplace) and I enjoy the random humor and photos. The title is hard to top.
"The President's Blog" (aka Someone as W)
I don't read this blog as regularly as I did before the election, but it still cracks me up and is over the top.
"Midwestern Law" (aka Estephania)
She's a lawyer from Cleveland. I'm always trying to learn what makes a lawyer and about how people think from different places. Odd, her blog makes me think of Klinger from M*A*S*H (probably because of the Ohio connection). I enjoy the blog and can even make it through most of the long posts. Random mix of sports, law, politics, and other stuff. The url originally made me think of a Beatles song, however it is in reference to REM.
"Poems and Short Stories" (aka Ivy Dilinger and the Beaver Dam French Club)
This one is from the Bay. Very creative writing. Am pretty much convinced that the Ivy Dilinger persona writes for everyone. I enjoy the stories and creativity of the blog as a whole. Very good insights.
"English Sci-Fi Randomness" (Newlinks.blogspot group)
English humour usually makes me laugh the hardest. The play on words can be immaculate at times. I've been accused of being English before (which is in my heritage, but I'm mostly German/French). Helps me keep up on what is happening with the local soccer teams and links I otherwise don't have time to surf the web for.
"Aussie Cooking" (aka Anthony the Foody)
A blog about cooking. Cooking is a skill I lack, but one which I probably need to survive. I like the Australians (ever since Fiji) and enjoy their sense of humour and unique look on things. Has a lot of links on the sidebar and every now and then will pick one at random to read.
So there we have it, rather than a reflection of the past year; a small and probably narcissistic reflection inside myself for the coming year and hopeful clarification for how y'all ended up on linked list.
2005 will be better than 2004 (as 2004 was better than 2003 by about 3 months). Hope you all have a good one; I'll be on the island wandering this year and tying myself off from the 60mph winds.
Take care, blog ya next year,
Guv'nor Mundane

Dern, I love the comments you leave on my midget tossing blog. (BTW, it's not driving me nuts.) Oh, and the fear & trust posts.... are about my dog Sparky. Sparky is going to get his leg amputated.... Again. J/K ;)
Thanks for the nice comment. It's funny, I was going to write something similar about the blogs I read as well. Oh well, you took my idea. There goes the neighborhood. Hope you had a great New Year's!
Non sequitur:
Brick Tamland: Cough. Look over here. Excuse me, Veronica?
Veronica Corningstone: Yes? What is it, Brick?
Brick Tamland: I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party.
Veronica Corningstone: Excuse me?
Brick Tamland: [struggling] The... party. With the... with the pants. Party with pants?
Veronica Corningstone: Brick, are you saying that there's a party in your pants and that I'm invited?
Brick Tamland: That's it.
Thanks Liezel. Beware the commenting onslaught....
